Recently, the 2025 Capital University Student Mental Health Season concert, The Sound of Music — AI Resonance Concert, was held at Tsinghua University. The AI-generated original music piece Photosynthesis, created by Zhang Shaopeng, an undergraduate student from the Class of 2023 at the School of Automation, University of Science and Technology Beijing, stood out among numerous entries and was selected as one of the six outstanding works showcased at the event.

Photosynthesis blends Neo-Soul and jazz improvisation with AI-generated melodies and vocals, transforming the laughter and tears of growth into the nourishment of life, and turning the scientific concept of “photosynthesis” into a metaphor for youth. Its bright and melodious structure, combined with an expressive portrayal of youthful emotion, received an enthusiastic response from the audience, highlighting the university’s and the School’s remarkable achievements in integrating technology with the humanities.

During the 2025 Mental Health Season, the “Zizai Station” Psychological Counseling Center of the School of Automation, under the guidance and support of the University Center for Psychological Quality Education, jointly organized the campus selection for the Sound of Music — AI Resonance Concert with other schools. Moving forward, the School will continue to leverage the “Zizai Station” secondary counseling platform to enhance interdisciplinary integration, actively explore innovative applications of AI technology in mental health education and other areas, help students relieve stress and strengthen self-awareness, and contribute to creating a new paradigm of humanistic care in the digital era.
